How Gynecology Consultation Works

Although women may consult a gynecologist for ordinary medication, most of them prefer to do so while experiencing symptoms or complaints such as the appearance of vaginal discharge, cysts, or genital warts, pain while urinating, bleeding -the occurrence of irregularities, and pain in the abdomen or back of the back. Visit OBGYN Chattanooga if you need help.

The gynecologist will start by collecting detailed information about the symptoms suffered by the patient. During a consultation, patient medical records, diagnostic history, medications being taken, and family medical history will be discussed with the patient. Before making a diagnosis, some types of tests will be performed. Tests to be performed are pelvic, pap smear (sample examination of eroded uterine tissue), and chest and abdominal tests. The size and shape of the uterus will also be examined by pressing two fingers in the abdominal area located just above the uterus. Measurement of vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, and height and weight, will also be performed.
